Terry

Shop With Me Consultation

Meet my client Terry, Terry is a previous co-worker who approached me on updating his wardrobe for work and for more business-focused events. Terry wanted to find pieces that were durable and could be multi-functional. When he approached me with this, I instantly thought of the ABC Pant from Lululemon ( a store which I don’t think Terry would have set foot in otherwise). Then we set off to RW&Co, a store that I knew I could find Terry very transitional pieces from here that would be flattering and be appropriate for what he was looking for.

We found Terry a pair of Lululemon ABC pants in black (which he said he was going to go back and buy a few more colors), a checkered button up – steering away from his plaid choices, a pair of dark wash jeans, A blazer, A collared sweater, a sweater and a reversible belt. These pieces Terry and I believed that the pieces we chose could be used as staple pieces for what Terry already had in his closet.

Thank you for working with me Terry, and for understanding, Je Suis Style isn’t just for women. Enjoy your new wardrobe!

Christina

Shop With Me Consultation

Do you buy pieces that you’re scared you can’t wear again? My client Christina feels your frustration. I took Christina to Stasia Boutique to shop for those “staple” pieces she’s missing in her closet. This hot mamma (Yeah.. She has two kids! – She looks good right!?) found some awesome new pieces that she can pair with almost anything and wear to work, to the dog park, on a date night with her husband and even lazing around on a Sunday!

I was so happy hearing the words “I feel sexy!” come out of Christina’s mouth. So glad we could work together, because you look great!

Andreea

Discover What to Wear Consultation

We re-found Andreea’s performance style! That’s right, she’s a singer. Andreea and I have two very different styles, I was super excited when she asked me to help her sort through her closet and find some new clothes for her rockin’ gigs. It was fun playing with scarves, blacks, greys, plaids and colorful cardis with Andreea. We were able to go through her closet and find her 15 new outfits to perform in. Thanks for working with me Andreea

Kalina

Discover What to Wear Consultation

Morning’s aren’t your thing? My client Kalina feels your pain. She wanted my assistance with finding cute outfits to wear to work, and easily get dressed in less than 15 minutes, that way she can catch more zzz’s!
Not only did we pick out cute work outfits, we found tons of casual, going out and date night outfits. She even gave me a challenge to help find what to wear with those pieces that are a little more difficult to wear (of course I succeeded! )
Thanks for inviting me into your closet Kalina! I had a blast!

Raylene

Shop With Me Consultation

What woman doesn’t love black!? I know my client Raylene LOVES black! She contacted me about finding some pieces that were different than her typical black apparel, which could be worn for both work and play! We found 13 wonderful pieces down at Stasia Boutique (of course!)
Raylene may have even found a winning outfit for her Saturday night birthday bash, but I’ll let her show that one off

Paige

Shop With Me Consultation

I am over the top ecstatic for my client Paige! She had approached me about finding a new wardrobe similar to her own, but wanted to add pieces that were transitional and that she could wear on a “night out with the girls”. As well, she didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg on new clothes. Paige is a power engineer, therefore she doesn’t work in an office and spends most of her time in hoodies, jeans and work boots (You Go Girl!!).

I didn’t want to put her too out of her comfort zone, so I took her to my favorite consignment store, Stasia Boutique, where we found everything we needed, of course! We picked out pieces that she would easily be able to pair with leggings or jeans, and easily dress them up.

We were able to find Paige 13 staple pieces, including 2 pairs of shoes, 3 pairs of pants, several pieces of jewellery, several tops, and even a leather jacket that she can pair with everything we found.

I was so happy seeing the confident smile she had on her face every time she came out of the change room. I loved hearing her say “I feel pretty”, “This is so cute!”, “I can’t wait to wear this!” and “My legs look so long.”

I am so happy that we found so many wonderful pieces that you love and feel comfortable in! Thank you for working with me Paige!

Reduce. Reuse. Re-Wear.

Want to make an impact on the environment? Start re-wearing your clothing you’ve forgotten about.

We live in a world where fashion is not only expressing ourselves with our clothes but through our clothes. I hear more and more people say, I support local, or I only want to support ethically friendly fashion. I think that this is wonderful how many people are conscious of their ecological footprint and how they want every last detail to count when it comes to the environment and supporting small businesses. What I don’t think we realize as individuals we say this but are hypocritical with our actions. We want new clothes, ones that are environmentally friendly, or local, and I hear a lot of talk about getting rid of the old in order to bring in the new.

In North America alone, 85% of our collective apparel ends up in the landfill. Which is over 10.5 million tons of clothing. The most popular solution to unwanted or clothing that no longer fits is donating it to charities, local thrift stores or even consignment shops. Even if you don’t have the time to drop off your bag at one of these stores, most of them have a pickup service to prevent these clothes from ending up in the landfill. There is no need for us to be throwing old clothing in the garbage, and clogging up our landfills. I always say that one woman’s trash is another one’s treasure.

Recently, I have been feeling guilty about bagging up my clothes and just giving them to Value Village, I recognize I have similar sized friends whom will give my clothing that I no longer want a “forever home”. I have started hosting clothing swaps, I invite my friends over, tell them to bring a bag of clothing or items they don’t want or need anymore, and make an afternoon of it. It’s a great way to get together with your girlfriends on a Saturday and you even go home with a goody bag full of clothes that are new to you in the end. Everything that is left over at the end is typically donated to charity or given to a shelter. What a great way to feel good!

I commonly hear my friends talk about pieces of clothing they forget about or were just sitting at the back of their closet, and I am so shocked that most people don’t know the makeup of their closet and know every piece they have in it (I’m definitely a rare entity to this situation). With my Macro or Micro closet organizing service, you can remember every piece found in your closet, and have several new, trendy outfits in your hands, that you didn’t even know existed 24 hours ago. I have had two clients take advantage of this service and found wonderful results from it.

Kathleen: I went through Kathleen’s closet looking for new cute trendy outfits that are comfortable for work and for at home. We totaled up all the new outfits and combinations we found her in her closet alone. We found 24 for new outfits for her to wear, and how to transition each piece into different seasons, what accessories to wear with each outfit, how to transition from day to night and what shoes to wear.

Camille: I went through Camille’s closet doing the same as Kathleen’s, but trying to downsize in order for her boyfriend to move in. As well as assisting Camille in packing for her trip to Scotland. We found a total of 17 new outfits in her closet, and she even gave me some pieces to take home that she couldn’t find the use for anymore (How Sweet!).

With the help of my two clients Camille and Kathleen, I wanted to show that letting Je Suis Style go through your closet, not only saves you money and time but allows you to provide positive environmental impact as well. We discovered that the average outfit costs anywhere from $230-$400 (of course give or take depending on your clothing taste). If Kathleen wanted to go buy 24 new outfits from the store she would be paying anywhere from $5,520 to $9,600. With my Macro Closet Organizing Service, it only cost her $350 – she saved an INSANE amount, and it only took me 3.5 hours. Similar to Kathleen, Camille would have paid anywhere from $3,910 to $6,800, and her investment for a Micro Closet Organizing was $125 for a 2.5 hours job.

Let’s stop putting our old clothes in the landfills, and start putting them back in our closets and in our friends. Re-Wear your clothes!
